Prof. Muhammad Shariful Islam

Professor Muhammad Shariful Islam is an Executive Member and Director of Research & Integrated Thought (RIT) and a Professor in the Department of Social Work at the University of Rajshahi. He holds an MSS from the University of Dhaka and an MPhil from the University of Rajshahi. His teaching and research interests include social work education, human rights, child rights, public health, poverty reduction, social welfare, and the professionalisation of social work in Bangladesh. His scholarly work addresses the welfare of vulnerable children, community development, microfinance, health-related social challenges, and the relationship between social work education and professional practice. At RIT, Professor Islam contributes to interdisciplinary research, academic collaboration, social-policy engagement, and initiatives aimed at promoting inclusive and evidence-based approaches to human development and social justice.
