Research Seminar and Workshop Successfully Concluded by Manarat International University and RIT
Manarat International University (MIU) and Research and Integrated Thought (RIT) have successfully organized a two-day “Research Seminar and Workshop 2026” under the theme “From Research Idea to International Impact.” The event was held on 11 and 12 August 2026 at the auditorium of MIU’s permanent campus in Ashulia.
The seminar and workshop brought together students, young researchers, and faculty members for comprehensive discussions and practical training on different stages of research. Key areas covered during the sessions included research topic selection, research methodology, academic writing, citation and reference management, data analysis, the use of artificial intelligence in research, international journal publication, and research-based career development.
The event was inaugurated with the presence of the Chief Guest, Professor Dr. Muhammad Abdur Rab, Vice-Chancellor of Manarat International University.
During the two-day program, distinguished speakers and resource persons conducted various sessions. Among them were Dr. Md. Mizanur Rahman, Dean of the School of Science, Engineering and Technology, MIU; Dr. Zubayer Ahmed, Associate Professor at the Bangladesh Institute of Governance and Management (BIGM); and Md. Mahabub Alam, Dean of the School of Business and Economics, MIU.
Other resource persons included Saidur Rahman Palash, Lecturer at Metropolitan University, Sylhet; Dr. Mohammad Mesbahur Rahman, Assistant Professor at the National Institute of Preventive and Social Medicine (NIPSOM); Professor Dr. Ramit Azad from the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, MIU; Dr. Ali Hossain, Research Director at the Institute of Materials Informatics; Dr. Shibbir Ahmad, Assistant Professor at North South University; Dr. Ehteshamul Haque, Senior Lecturer at Daffodil International University; Jannatul Ferdous, Lecturer at Hamdard University Bangladesh; and Professor Md. Ershadul H. Chowdhury, Head of the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, MIU.
The workshop also featured sessions by Dr. Md. Abul Hasan, who completed his PhD in International Relations and Regional Studies from HSE University, Russia; Dr. Mohammad Abul Kalam Azad, Director of the Centre for General Education Development (CGED) and Associate Professor at MIU; and Dr. Fazlul Karim, Faculty Member of the Department of Law, MIU. Special guests included Fakhrul Islam, Md. Hossain Ali, and Obaidur Rahman, among others.
The speakers highlighted important aspects of research, including effective research paper writing strategies, research ethics, data analysis techniques, interpretation of findings, responsible use of artificial intelligence, and pathways for publishing in internationally recognized journals. They also discussed how to plan a research project effectively and transform research ideas into impactful publications.
The closing session featured remarks from Dr. Ekram Uddin, Executive Director of Research and Integrated Thoughts (RIT). At the end of the program, certificates and crests were distributed among participants by Dr. Ekram Uddin and Dr. Md. Mizanur Rahman.
In his closing remarks, Dr. Ekram Uddin Suman emphasized that researchers must develop competency in modern technologies while maintaining strong ethical standards to address future global challenges. He highlighted the importance of integrated knowledge approaches in addressing various social issues in Bangladesh.
He also stressed that research should not remain limited to academic publications but should contribute to solving real-world problems and creating meaningful social impact.
The organizers expressed gratitude to all speakers, resource persons, participants, volunteers, and stakeholders whose cooperation contributed to the success of the event.
Research and Integrated Thoughts (RIT) plans to continue organizing similar initiatives in collaboration with universities and researchers across Bangladesh to promote research excellence, innovative thinking, and academic capacity development.
